remove door panel-'93 explorer

I need to replace the factory speaker. What tool do I use to remove the door panel, and how do I begin?

Buy some replacement Ford door panel "buttons" ahead of time, some of them will probably get broken or worn out and not be reusable. All I use for a tool is a stiff putty knife type implement or screwdriver or a small nail prybar (like a screwdriver but for prying out nails by sliding under the nailhead). If nothing else, a thin putty knife can be slide along the underside of the panel to find the locations of the "buttons" and then to pry it up a enough to get a screwdriver in to finish the job. The putty knife usually isn't stiff enough to pop them out.

I just want to add to Ashton's excellent response that there are also a couple of philips head screws to remove first, at least on my '91. Once you get the screws out and pop out the buttons you may need to slip the panel upwards a bit. On mine it is also connected in a couple of slots on either side and if you force it they might break.

While we are adding - pop off the little plate under the door handle. Then remove the screw that is under there.
