My '99 Maxima just hit 60,000 miles and the air bag light is now blinking. Is there any way to turn this off without taking it to the shop?

- Open the driver's door
- Turn the ignition switch to ON
- Press the rubber covered button on the door pillar five times within seven seconds.
- Close the door and start the engine.
If that doesn't work there's is an actual problem which needs to be looked at. I'm pretty sure it's covered as part of the
60K drivetrain warranty. If you just passed 60K, Nissan may be willing to cover part of the cost. If your dealer won't, try contacting Nissan USA and pleading your case.
