Maxima-Extended Warranty

Jul 22, 2003 3 Replies

Hey ya'll. I bought the extended warranty cause I do a lot of traveling and already have 21K miles on my 2003 Max. The booklet says that I get, among other things, $35/day towards rental if my car is in the shop. SO my car need to be in the shop (because the dealership sprayed something all over my dash/plastic cover on speedo/stereo which stained everything and now it all needs to be replaced) but the service mgr says that no, they don't cover rentals. Anybody have a run-in like this? Any suggestions?

As far as I know, you are entitled to a rental car and should recieve one. UNLESS...the warranty entitles the owner to a rental car only on the areas that the warranty specifically covers.

Hey, this seems to have nothing to do with a warranty, extended or otherwise.

If the dealer screwed up your car, then they need to make you whole due to their negligence. They do that by fixing your car & providing transportation, or paying you the cash to do it on your own.

The dealer may try to sneak this on to a warranty ticket & get Nissan to pick it up, but that isn't your concern.
