Heater problem

I just bought a 97 firebird . It has had the radiator replaced with one that did not use Dex-Cool. The previous owner had this done in July, and has not use the heater. I tried the heater out with the control turn to hot, an it blowes out cold air like the a/c is on. I replaced the thermostat and gasket with no luck getting heat out of the heater. Any ideas on what I need to do? Thanks.

top post..... Are your heater hoses hooked up to the heater core or is it they bypassed? This is the first step. If they are .pull your control panel and check the connections. Most people just bypss the core when it goes out because its a pain to replace .
