No solution, only a report that I have exactly the same problem in a 2002 G-P GT. Surge at highway speed, under light acceleration, goes away, plenty of power if I stomp on it.

It's been worse than ever this Winter - if anything, cool weather seems to make it worse.

Pretty much the same story... Car runs perfectly otherwise, no check-engine light ever. Parts replaced to no effect include plugs, TPS, EGR, oxy. sensor, filters, etc. Local dealer and mechanic relative all stumped!

I'll be watching closely for any hints here!

It's nice to know that I am not the only one with this issue. My dealer is stumped also. Last time I took it in, they just determined that the trans was searching for the right gear. NOT!

Mine would surge and stall at low speed, been a few years so don't remember if it did it at high speed. Plus it was only a few days old. ( bought used in 05). It was the mas that was goofed up . Similar symptoms so maybe a cleaning or replace. I don't remember a cel coming on at the time. Good luck Jim Oh it's a 3800 GT

What is the mas? I figured out the cel "check engine light" I'm open to any ideas, Mine does it at low speed pulling a hill, and freeway speeds pulling a hill. I suspect it on flat ground, but it is not as noticable Thanks for your input.

I can recall a MAF Mass Air Flow sensor, but not a MAS.

Was a few years ago . I questioned it at the time and asked if it was the same thing as a map (manifold air pressure sensor) and was told much the same. So have to say it is manifold air sensor or manifold air pressure sensor. Sorry that's the best I can do as that was all the repair sheet said was replaced mas. Hope it was of some help Jim

Problem 2, there is a temperature sensor under the front bumper. You can get to the sensor from under the front of car, and dont really need to remove anything. That is bad.

Would it be sporatic in it's readings? Like sometimes way off the mark, and other times right on the real temp? I'll take a look today before it starts raining.

Thanks
