Best time of year for Stude parts selling on eBay??

I know this has been discussed before on the NG, but my searches came up with nothing.

I need some input from the frequent eBay sellers on the NG: When is the best time of year to sell Studebaker parts and related items on eBay?

Thanks, Paul

I'd say there is no "better" time. If someone is looking a part they'll buy it January - December.

I agree on there not being a better 'time of year' to list stuff. However, I have had my best luck with auctions that END on Sunday, between 7 PMand 9 PM Pacific time.

I would guess after the holidays but well before tax time.

It sure ain't now as I had a full set of rebuildable Avanti disc brake cylinders bring a whopping $1...

I have always had good luck winning on Saturday evening. My theory is that people are out doing the Saturday night thing and not thinking about the auctions.

You never know with ebay. I have had items get no bids at all and then relist them and they go nuts. One of my buddies just hit the BIN on the 289 four speed combo that was on ebay for five hundred. I was surprised that nobody didn't snag it when it first came on. Shifter, AC stuff with it. I once had a special puller for Triumphs that went WAY past the original BIN and on into the stratosphere with two guys duking it out for the thing. Roll the dice... Studebaker George

Thanks to everyone for their input. I pretty much have decided to wait until after New Years, probably until February. I want to stay away from selling during the holidays, just due to so many distractions (mainly on my part).

This was my original plan anyway, but I was afraid that Feb wouldn't be a good time.....but from everyone's comments, it sounds like pretty much any time is Stude time on eBay.

not so fast! Between Thanksgiving & New Year's has always been best for me. Ebay seems to die of in mid-Jan. I have just started back on ebay for the first time in months. Holiday weekends are best, with auctions closing late on Sunday night.

I had a '39, but only drug it as far as Grandview, MO. You must have missed my post about my trip to Armour & Omaha. I donated the other 38-9 bodies I had to the same recipient in Grandview, John McCall. It was fortunate that I stopped there on my way home because my L.fr. brake was almost on fire as I exited the freeway. I had replaced the rear brakes and my right caliper & hose prior to leaving Texas, replaced the m/cyl & booster in SD, and then had to replace the left caliper & hose there. It was good to have John's expert help and the use of Don Armacost's resto facility that day.

I sure envy you for getting out into the country. I am blseed with a near perfect pad for Studebaker farming, but sure would like to get a larger place away from the city & the high taxes. An area north or west of here with less rainfall & mosquitos would be nice. The idea of moving all of my crap is just incoceivable, though, and I would need to buy a place to move it to before moving, & I would have to sell my place to get the funds to buy the other place. My immediate area has little or no crime, but is is uncomfortably near some of Houston's worst areas. I was working on my truck last month when the school bus went by, and the 10 year old passengers were yelling things like "wite cracker" , "F**k you, white MF" etc. at me as they went by.

Bring it up with the school principal, besides what do you expect from a bunch of young bastards... in the true sense of the word? Their family life probably revolves around the same sort of respect toward others.

You need to look for a place along SH 71 just east of LaGrange.

If you buy a place, I'd probably be able to he'p you move...

The best time, without a doubt as with any vehicle out of production, is when one can find a good part at a good price. LOL

Dang George... What county are you in? That sure sounds like the place I would like to relocate to. This damn county I live in is getting overrun with all the assholes out of Washington and Baltimore and they are bringing the attitudes and the crime with them. Just what they wanted to escape from.
