does anyone know where car makers put the thermometer probe when they build a car. My Toyota Highlander was not made with an inside thermometer that would show the outside temperature.

does anyone know where car makers put the thermometer probe when they build a car. My Toyota Highlander was not made with an inside thermometer that would show the outside temperature.
When automakers build a car, they put the temperature sender in or near the point where they wish to measure temperature. For example, the probe for the EGR gas temperature is in the EGR tube.
The sensor for exterior ambient air is usually placed under the front bumper in Toyotas.
Chrysler puts them behind the front bumper, near the wheel well.
