What are these? Maintenance suggestion is for lube every 15K or so. How critical? Can they be lubed by home mechanic? If so, how, and with what?

AKA Driveshafts. Should be grease fittings on the u-joints/CV joints on each end of the shafts (one front, one rear). Your Owner's Manul should show the locations and type of grease to use. I use a general purpose moly grease in a grease gun.
