Update to oil change question.

A few weeks ago I had changed the oil in my '90 4-runner. I noticed some spotting underneath the right side of the engine soon afterwards. Nothing much - about a tablespoon.

I had the seals replaced about 25k miles. Finally I took it to the garage. They told me the filter and drainplug where a little loose and the gasket around the pressure switch was also wet but not dripping.

I can't believe I didn't tighten the filter and drainplug down for the first time in 15 years. Must be getting old.

When it comes to tightening drain plugs and filters - I do it and check it twice.

Once neglected to torque lug nuts on front wheels - heard a wop wop wop driving down the road - had to have lug nuts pressed out - only problem on honda's of that age - had to take off the hubs - major pita.

You got lucky. I was using a impact gun for the first time, and didn't want to break the studs. Also didn't check them by hand. '94 4x4. Rear drivers wheel fell off going 55mph. At night. Looked in the mirror to see a sick shower of sparks. Managed to find the wheel, but lost the brake drum.
