transaxle question

ok, I got the new transaxle. Sweet... but I was looking at it last night, and noticed a difference in the one i have and the new one. the new one has the extra piece on the input shaft.... like the later IRS tranny. looks like a big cover on the input shaft that covers the bearing....3 bolts. whats the story with this? will i have to use a late model clucth and T/O bearing now?

Is this a new mexican/brazilian swing axle? I thought I may be getting a rebuilt 1966 trans axle when I ordered it. This should be a 12 volt as I have a 12 volt flywheel on the new engine. Pardon my ignorance on this... but im not real fluent in swing axle...yet. lol and Ive had this car for almost 7 years now and never had to do anything to the swingaxle...until now.

Yep, it sure looks like you'll need the late TO and pressure plate.

And the correct 12V starter bush. Check the bellhousing to see if it has been clearanced already. I bet it has.

See the 6V/12V article on my web site for pics and info.
