I have an 89s10 4X4 SAME as 1987
#1 There is a Vaccum Switch on top of the Transfercase on the Right
Side.. It Has 3 Vacumm hoses Attached to it.. The Switch Goes Bad Quite
often ( $17.00 At dealer )( Experience From MY 1989 )
#2 The Vaccum Hoses Run Close to the Exhaust, And This DRIES them out
and They Crack and leak.( Experience From My Son's 1987 )
#3 There is a Vacum actuator UNDER the BATTERY that operates a Cable
that Goes to ingauge the Front AXLE.
#4 Raise the Truck off all 4 Wheels put it in 4 wheel drive, DOES the
Front Drive shaft TURN ? If Not the problem lies in the lines to the
Switch on top of the Transfer case or the Vacum lines.or the Tranfer
Case its self ( Can change switch Without lower the Case)
If the Shaft Turns, Then it Lies in the Cable or Vacum actuator under
REMEMBER .. ALL 4 WHEELS OFF THE GROUND !!!!! Other wise u or Some one
Else is going to Get HURT
