4 wheel drive makes noise

Aug 05, 2004 2 Replies

The previous owner of a 1995 Chevy 2500 Ext Cab 4x4 had replaced the automatic transmission. When it is shifted into 4 wheel drive it makes a clunking noise as if it's not fully engaged. It has the shift lever on the floor. Is the linkage out of adjustment or is the transfer case engaged by solenoids?
