A friend of mine was having trouble shutting off his 1995 chev diesel pick up truck. Then when it shut off the alt. light was still on in the dash. The next day his heater fan kept running.
The key turns fine to all positions start, run, off etc.
I told him it sure sounds like your ignition switch is faulty.
Is this a common thing on these trucks after a while? It has close to 200,000 miles on it.
What's involved in taking it off. From the out side it looks like its easy to get at, mounted right under the steering wheel. Unlike the older ones that had a rod connected to it farther down on the steering colum.
