I think Doc cleared this up pretty good for ya, but here it goes. I am going to assume that this tach is lighted and may have a shift light on it.

White - 12v Dash Lighting (locate this in the fusebox under your dash and tap into it.) Red - 12v ignition switch + ( this can be found in many places, but usually under the steering column) Black - Good ground ( Try to get the best (cleanest) ground you can get) blue - Negative side of the coil. Yellow - Constant 12v power source. ( There are many power sources to use, choose one and tap into it)

Go to your hardware store, or Walmart, and get yourself some T-taps and male spade connectors, it will make the install process very simple, and you can disconnect it at anytime without tearing wires apart.

And be REALLY careful with the tach lead when you run it thru the firewall; if you strip any of the insulation off and that puppy grounds, goodbye ignition system. I'd drill a 1/4" hole and put a rubber grommet thru the hole, then run the wire thru the hole, and cover the entire length of wire underhood with grommet as well.
