transmission

i have a 2001 chevy silverado and today while i was driving all of a sudden the truck stopped and i had to pull over i could push on the gas pedal but the truck wont move it revs up but it doesnt move it seems as if you are in park in every gear also the transmission fluid smells can anyone give me any advice

If it smells is is likely cooked. If you have big tires with stock gears and no aux cooler it is just a question of time before tranny cooks.
