1998 camaro customizing question

Mar 01, 2004 2 Replies

I was wondering what would be a good color scheme. I have a black camaro but I will paint it yellow ( maybe i'm stuck on the black and shinyness ) but i'm going to get new racing seats and I want to paint the plastic and the vinal inside. Anybody have any pictures or idea's would be awsome.

Thanks.

Larry.

Well, I think Yellow was avail. as an outside color that year, but all I can say is, DON'T DO IT LARRY! Stick with a nice mirror finished obsidian black. Inside looks good in taupe. (I'm not too keen on the grayish black they offered for interior.) Painting plastic is a P.I.T.A. and unfortunately, GM put a lot of it in that car. I think you're asking for long term headaches (no pun intended) if you decide to paint the interior.

If you MUST have yellow on the car, then stick with yellow highlights/racing stripe. Or yellow w/black highlights/racing stripe. Those would look best IMHO.

Bah, I take that back. Looks like the following colors were available in 1998:

Blue Black Cayenne Green Purple Red Silver Teal While

Again, just my opinion, but I like to see vehicles in a color scheme that was at least offered by OEM. Martin '01 Formula - MTI Air Box Lid, K&N Filter, Hurst-6, SLP Cold Air Induction & Smooth Intake Bellow Corsa Catback w/Premium Tips '83 V45 Magna
