changing interior

1996 f350 crew cab. interior is like a vegas brothel (red everywhere!). id like to change my color to black or another neutral color. i know carpet sets are available and seats can be recovered. im wondering about the dash and interior plastic. is there any type of paint that adheres and will be durable or am i looking at replacing all the plastic? any headliner options? thanks,

Funny you should ask, I just removed my dash from a F250 ( Red ) repainted it with endura pant. I'm sure that you could find other paints suitable for the job, it is that I was already going to purchase endura for the rest of the truck. My wife and I have done a complete color change to a beautiful metalic emerald green.

I don't know what any brothel is like, and neither does my wife ..... but MOST body shops should be able to put you onto plastic dye in many colors. GM (gasp!) sent door panels and such in a neutral beige color and it was up to the body shop to dye it to the proper color. GM only had to stock one neutral color. Just a thought that it may help.

Ace Hardware sells a plastic paint that is about $5/can. It is too new to know about long term durability; however it has been out for a year or two and it is very popular. I have used it and it bonded perfectly, no sanding, prepping, or priming needed.
