'03 Silverado ABS

The ABS on my '03 Silverado seem to turn on almost prematurely on some surfaces. Is there an adjustment that can delay it turning on slightly?

V.B. Before you do anything to your ABS make sure your tires are properly inflated. JR

My '03 does the same thing, but I've learned to love it. I first noticed it when I tried to stop coming up to a stop sign going down hill around a small bend in the road......the surfice just before the sign was pretty bumpy. The bumps set off the ABS, but rightfully so. I've since driven mine in the snow and it did great!! Never once did I feel like it was out of control. Just stand on it and the truck will do the rest. One other interesting time was when I was playing around and approaching a 25 mph corner at 80 mph....pressing the envelope a bit, but anyway, the ABS kicked it during the last few feet and slowed the truck right down and on through the corner I went.

You are right though, it does seem very loose compared to others. If it bothers you take it to the dealer and have them check it out. The dealer I take mine to checks all that stuff out with the safety inspection when I get my oil changed.

How many miles do you have on it?

No, if there's anything, it's not going to be something that's very easy to do, unfortunately.

I feel for you, that's for sure. I hate ABS on anything but hot, dry, asphalt.
