I have a 03 chevy 4door diesel and I pull a 26 foot enclosed trailer with brakes. On the 7pin factory connector should there be 12 volts (on the pin just right of the top center) from the battery on the truck? I was told that this ensures 12 volts to the battery of the trailer so that if the trailer becomes unhooked while driving. Basically it is there to charge the battery of the trailer. Is this correct? I don't have 12 volts on the 7pin and was wondering if I was supposed to, or if I need to hook it up. Thanks

I am not sure which pin it is. But if you have the GM Harness which most likley you do there is a wiring diagram on the cover where you plug the trailer in. If you do not have power in the fuse box under the hood to the top left maybe the first or second fuse hole you will need to add the fuse for that.
