1992 C-1500 Lights on AC are blinking when I first start truck

Feb 02, 2004 2 Replies

I have just started reading this newsgroup and I am assuming this question has been answered a dozen times. when I first start my truck the AC lights blink continuesly for aout 3 to 5 mins and then they stop Also for some reason the park brake light stays on even though I don't ever use the park brake. Any help or sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

If I remember right, a blinking A/C light means that the A/C system may need service.

For the next problem, I'm assuming that the '92s can have or do have rear wheel antilock brakes.

A brake light that's on solid can indicate that the RWAL controller thinks there is a problem. It can be falsely triggered. My dad's '94 had this light get stuck on after my brother was driving and the truck started to slide down a hill and he nailed the brake down very rapidly. It took pulling and reattaching the cables off the RWAL box by the master cylinder to get rid of the light.

Thanks I appreciate the info.
