2002 is basically the same as the 1996 and up. I have a 96 with 5.0L. We just luv it. It is a Mark III conversion G1500. It's got 145K on it. Only had 2 major issues, 1. the rear end bearings went out at 60K, and it was fixed on the extended warranty, 2. The 3-2 shift solenoid failed at 40K. I fixed it myself for about 45 bucks, and did a fluid change at the same time.
