2004 Silverado LT 4x4 driving problems

May 11, 2004 2 Replies

just bought a new 2004 Silverado 4x4 LT with all the bells and whistles. It's great in every respect except (in my opinion) the most important one. At highway speeds it runs all over the road. It will pull to one side and then the other. I took it in for warranty repair and all they would do is check the alignment and "it's right on the money, so there's nothing wrong." Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

I have a 2000 4x4 Silverado LT 5.3 pickup Ext Cab...

When new, it had Firestone P metric 265 'car' tires...

It pulled to the Right both before & after a Chev dealer warranty alignment...

I purchased Michelin LTX-AT LT-265 tires at 4000 miles... and it steers like a dream ever since....

LTX At tire are a bit noisier.....

Mine has Bridgestone AT tires. Same as Firestone. I would have never bought those tires, but they were on the truck. I have sort of suspected tires may be the problem It's much worse if there is a breeze blowing. With any kind of substantial wind, it almost feels dangerous.
