93 Sierra Brake Sticking

I have a 1993 Sierra Pickup. The driver side disc brake occationally gets stuck. I usually just use the truck for trips to the dump.



I start my trip the brakes are fine. Somewhere along the line before I get home I can fell the truck pulling to the left. When I get home that wheel is heated up. When I go to use the truck the next week the brake is fine again when I start out.



I do use the emergency brake when at the dump so not sure if it is related to that or not. What things should I suspect might be the prob and look for when I pull the wheel off to look at the brake?

Collapsed brake line? If they are original I would replace them anyways.

That would be my first guess as well. Fast easy check, when you get back in your driveway and the wheel is hot, jack that wheel up, crack the bleeder, if you get a little geyser of fluid, or the wheel turns much easier after opening, then you more than likely have a hose problem, change the hoses in pairs, same brand, or you could create a pull problem. If opening the bleeder doesn't help, then ether the caliper slides are gummed up, or the caliper piston is hanging up. As with hoses, change the calipers in pairs, and in ether case, replace the pads, the side stickling are probably cooked. I like the AC Delco DuraStop Organics, and Raybestos PG Plus or QS pads best. I avoid really high metallic content pads, and the ceramic blends. They don't work near as well unless you are getting the brakes good and hot, not to mention they are much harder on the rotors.
