Hi!
I once ran 90 or so on a deserted country road in my old (1984!) GMC Sierra with 6.2 and auto with overdrive. Now it's nowhere near as big a truck (quarter ton with regular cab) and it did shake like it would come apart, but it was capable of at least that much.
I could have tried pushing it harder as there certainly did seem to be more accelerator travel left, but with a really rusty body and "well used" tires, I only stayed there for a few seconds.

William, When it was new it probably would have outrun the 04, mines a 6.6. I just thought it would do more than my 97 350 1500 I had at 110 once but it shut down ! Damn puters ! Deisel is for power not top end....:) LOL ! There is no reason to go that fast but I have a stretch of highway by my house that has no traffic just deer ! I've been lucky so far ! My last 94 Mercedes E420 (V8)I had at 160 and gaining but I let off ! wonder how fast it would go? I do have a witness for that night she is still changing her panties.... Have a Great One ! Bob :)
