Fuel Pump Question

Sep 13, 2003 1 Replies

Anyone who has had to change a GM fuel tank mounted fuel pump knows this is no easy task. If the pump went out with no repair facility near, would it be possible to put a pump somewhere in the line temporarily to get it home?

Nope. You'll fubar the fuel lines trying. They'll be steel, braided stainless or plastic on the never ones, none of which like to be cut and then have somethin' stuffed up them. Pay the money and get it towed. For the cost of an inline fuel pump, you can have it towed pretty much anywhere in the US!
