Hi everybody. I have a '99 Yukon 2wd that leaves something to be desired in the handling department. I upgraded the shocks to heavy duty Billsteins (the stock shocks were smaller Billsteins), but otherwise the suspension is stock. I read an article in a local magazine where they took a later model Yukon and used Hotchkis sway bars and trailing arms to upgrade the suspension, and also lowered the truck 2" in front and 4" in the rear. Also, they went with larger diameter wheels and lower profile tires (but only like 17" wheels with 60 series tires). The owner said the transformation was a dramatic improvement. Now I know on my '99 I have rear leaf springs rather than rear coils on the later models, but Hotchkis makes a sway bar package for the front and rear of my truck I'm wondering if it's worth it to try this upgrade ($580). I wouldn't change the wheels or tires (stock size rims with 255/70 tires). Does this sound like a worthwhile upgrade? If I was to lower the Yuke, what is entailed with that? New springs, lowering blocks, or what? I tow a 25' travel trailer.
