Old, Used, New

OK, I'm looking at buying a new (Or used or classic) ride.

I have owned a 66 chev 1/2 ton, loved that truck alot and was REALLY sorry to have let it go.

Now with all the new crap on the models now, should I look to those ancient ones, or really be looking at say 1995 or newer or even those New ones in the dealer lot....

I know the drawback of buying old/classic is parts location, but the newer ones seems to have little chance for your shadetree mechanic to be able to work on.

good for you

and this is relevant because ????

YOU will be driving it, make your choice

look : old ones are 'easy to work on' without test equipment

new ones are a snap with a scan tool

either buy an old one and fix it by ear-and-seat-of-pants. or buy a new one, get a scan tool, learn to use it
