I have a 1990 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton pickup truck. Last winter, I was doing donuts, slammed into a very large curb side and bent one of my axle shafts and broke the steel rims that came with the truck. I replaced the axle shaft after that happened and noticed that when I go to brake, the brake pedal pulsates. I replaced the brake shoes, the drum and all the springs even the wheel cylinder. The brake pedal still pulsates. Someone told me that my rear-end needs to be replaced. I do have a rear end from a 1982 Chevy 1/2 ton that is collecting rust as I type. Is it possible to swap rear ends or is there anything that I should try before I attempt to change. The only thing I can think of would be the backing plate on the axle housing but other than that I am stumped. The reason I am bringing this up now is I haven't used my truck since the snow was gone last winter. I used my motorcycle which is now gone to pay for college. I appreciate all help anyone can give me.
