I'd appreciate a little more clarification on answer #2, if possible.

I understand that towing automatics and forcing the driven wheels to turn, can end in their early demise. Usually due to the pumps not running and thus the internals receive no lubrication while spinning.

However, manual transmissions usually do not have pumps. So I am unsure ot the concern about towing a manual transmission vehicle in neutral, with the driven wheels on the ground.

Manual transmissions splash oil. The counter shaft spins and throws oil all over the inside of the transmission case. If you tow the car in neutral, most manual transmissions will not spin the counter shaft. That means they do not oil the main shaft and associated gears. Some front wheel drive transmissions do. Anyway, as far as I know, yours does not. This should be in your owners manual. If someone at your dealer tells you it's OK to tow it, get it in writing. Or, you could wish you did.
