I'm finishing up a rebuild on a 2.5 4-cylinder, and I noticed that my rebuild kit came with a standard rear cam seal and the original seal was the "plug" type. Is there much difference? Should I look into finding a plug to use?
When I had the valve work done on my 2.5, they replaced the rear seal with one just like the original. The *plug* type as you say. I would think that the rebuild kits would supply the same one.
You might check to see what other vendor's kits provide.
