Hi all, just confirming that my 88 Ram 250's TBI 318 has roller lifters as there's less zinc etc in motor oil these days?

The 318 went roller sometime around 85, your 88 should have a roller cam. But even if it doesn't, modern oils are just fine for such a mild low-lift cam with soft valvesprings. The zinc scare is somewhat overblown- its only a real problem with huge muscle-car cams that require concentric valve springs with astronomical spring pressures.
