i reacently rebuilt the trans in a 1998 dodge v10 shortly after it came back, symptoms where driving along after maybe 5 miles it would cut out like a diesel whith water in it, real agressive cut outs of the engine . when it died it would flash the service engine soon light . hooked the modes to it had no codes , decided it must be shorting out the com puter so i monitored all the 5 volt refrences, test drove it when it died out so did the scanner any ideas much appreciated,

If you've messed about with the transmission, a likely thing would be the crankshaft position trigger. Make sure its solidly connected, and that the gap between it and the tonewheel is correct.
Any fault codes? I'm betting you see a crankshaft position sensor error.
