I just rented a 300 for the day and im going to be doing a lot of highway driving... will using the number 4 gear on ther 5 speed automatic save me on gas? or should I just keep it in d?

thanks.

On the outside chance that you really don't know ----

No, it will use more gas. Keep it in D.

Why would you ever drive in a lower gear to save gas? Running in a lower gear makes the engine turn faster to maintain the same speed.
