for a good laugh, take a look at "oldechrysler" and "oldiechrysler" orignal posts on this group, a few weeks back- it was DESERTBOB asking questions about an overheating problem on his POS ' 86 Chrysler.
He had a stuck thermostat- yet he disassembled the ENTIRE ENGINE looking for the problem, and was steam cleaning the block in the chassis, with the crank/pistons/rods still in the block.
Imagine all the water he got in the oil passages.
THEN, after he went through all that, I mentioned the thermostat to him.
His next post was "1986 Chrysler success" and his highway ride and gas mileage.
i.e. he changed the freakin' $5 thermostat, finally...
