Four speed TorqueFlite behind Deutz?

I just bought a Deutz FL 912 which i intend to rebuild and put in a Jeep. Would a four speed TorqueFlite be a better choice than a 700R4 perhaps? Either wouild be "alien" to this engine, and AFAIK both will interface with the transfer case.
