It's orange. It's cool. Therefore, it won't get built. (viz. 1998 Charger concept which should've been brought to market as displayed)

Man do I miss cartruck.com.
This challenger concept looks more like a Camaro.
"This concept possesses the heritage and classic forms of the original Dodge Challenger," said Trevor Creed
This is the shit-head that designed the 300-Bling.
"However, the ability to use the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 platform as the concept's foundation allowed us to bring a new level of quality and fit-and-finish to a muscle car icon."
Translation: It will weigh 4300 lbs and use mostly last-generation Mercedes E-class components.
"designers tried to build the Challenger most people see in their mind?s eye, without imperfections like the tucked under wheels and long front overhang of the old car"
Translation: Downplay the most significant (and platform-incompatible) design elements of the original Challenger by calling them "imperfections".
"long front overhang of the old car"
New design doesn't look phallic enough.
:-)
But really. The short nose just doesn't cut it.
Duh. Are becoming? How about have been for quite a while?
"We wanted to do a muscle coupe that connects with the American heritage," said Tom Tremont
How charitable of the Germans, eh?
And yes Dan, the 1999 Charger concept really looked nice. I think Tom Gale was in charge of that project.
I still lament the 2000 300N concept car (sigh). I hope they don't crush it (sort of like Avro did with the Arrow...)

And probably affordable by .02% of the population.
At least they are getting away from the ricer look like the 2006 Charger has, it looks like a volvo that is wearing an apron.
This challenger looks a bit like Pugsley met an orignal Charger.
