Aside from all the other opinions.. Not sure if you'd be comfortable with this...

Cut your yellow starter wire. Hook the two ends to an always open toggle switch. Now, the switch is always open, so it will always start, until you flip the toggle switch, then the current will be prevented from traveling past it to start the car. Pretty simple to do, hard part it finding a good place to mount the switch.

Just flip the switch when you get out, and if he doesn't know about the switch, he wont be able to start it. Could also use an always closed push button that might be easier to hide very well, but you'd have to be pushing the button in while your turning the key, that might get old.....

Do NOT use a "switch"! Use a momentary push button in series with the ignition start switch. NOW what you will have is officially called a "PASSIVE KILL BUTTON". You have to push it with one hand while starting the car with the other hand. (or use a knee if the PB (push button) is under the dash).

A Passive Kill Button will not only frustrate your neighbor, it will slow down any prospective thief so much that he or she is likely to give it up. This is known by the Auto Insurance Industry. In the US you can get a 15% discount on your comprehensive insurance by driving to your local insurance company and showing the "adjuster" that the car will not start with just the ignition switch! 15% - RM
