trouble starting

May 12, 2004 1 Replies

For the past few days I have noticed hesitation when I start my 1987 T&C Wagon (63,000 miles). On most occasions there was a momentary delay (a couple seconds at most) before the vehicle turned over. While it seems like the battery problem the electronic guage indicated a normal charge.

After several short trips today the car wouldn't start, but almost immediately upon connecting jumper cables the car started and revved as strong as ever.

One thing that I have noticed each time there was the hesitation is that clock and my preset stations on my store bought stereo are reset to 12:00, etc.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

John

Normal charge indication means that your alternator is probably working. Suspect the battery - get it tested (also check connections for being loose/corroded).
