hi all
i am currently restoring my ford capri mk 1. I tried to remove the flexible coupling, but after removing the clamp bolt, the flexible coupling wont detach from the spline. It moves about an inch, but wont come out completely. Has anyone encountered this problem before, and how i can remove it completely? Thanks for your help. James
Cover it liberally in penetrating oil. Turn the column/rack round until you can see where the split is and whack a chisel into it to spread it more. With the chisel still in place, tap it off using a lump hammer or
2lb+ ballpein job. If you use a claw hammer, you might as well not bother.Have something to add? Share your thoughts — no account required.
