This year we are expecting the largest gathering of these vehicles ever assembled in the UK

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Mahindra" saying something like:

Do they have to be re-assembled after falling apart?

The Mahindra Register has over 100 Mahindras owned by members, so they can't be all that bad :O)

Mahindra ( snipped-for-privacy@Mahindra.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

Club = Good car.

Hmmm. Not quite sure that logic scans.

Before answering, bear in mind there's an Allegro club, a Morris Marina club, and a Reliant Robin club....

You've gotta expect some banter when you post the name Mahindra on anything :-) I remember seeing a film of a trans India rally in which many of these things ran, the highlight for me was seeing a Mahindra with a damaged sump charging for a possible podium finish, trouble was the sump was leaking. As there were many roadside fry up stalls the crews merely stopped and filled up with frying oil to keep the thing running the few miles to the finish. Bio-diesel be damned these things can run of lard with butter breaks and a Flora clutch - that's not to mention the polyunsaturated suspension :-) There used to be a garage up the road from me that was the main agent for these things - I thin the main agent for the UK - it folded but not before quite a few were offloaded onto an unsuspecting public.

Adrian,

Totally agree with you and the point was not that having a club means it's a good car but that there are more of them around than many people think.

Although I wouldn't be seen dead with an Allegro, Marina or Robin, there are those who think and believe these cars were the greatest ever made. To each their own I say and if it wasn't for the enthusiasts of all makes, many would have completely vanished without trace.

Cheers

Hehehehe....

Of course I expect banter for this Marque. Being a bit of an ecentric, as are all Mahindra owners it's the simplicity of it all that makes them so wonderful to us. Yes, things do fall of them, electrics are dodgy and they are noisy and underpowered. They all require a lot of maintaining, but I'd rather spend hours doing that than letting a garage or dealer spend my hard earned cash generally servicing a Eurobox because the manufacturer doesn't allow anyone to tamper with anything than the basics.

Cheers

The Register will have their club stand and some vehicles on display at the Beaulieu 4x4 show in a couple of weeks time. Take a look and see how easily they can be modified and improved upon. You might just change your mind :O)

It's the lunatic known as "gaspode" under yet another alias. It's not just his shift key that is stuck, his brain is stuck too.

Ironic that you feel "Gaspode" is a lunatic, when nearly every one of the 20 or more IDs you are posting under at the moment, seem to suggest a deep seated mental illness of some kind or another!
