Seen in a post office window

Two weeks ago, I noticed a card in my local post office advertising a 1966 Vitesse 1600 for sale for £950 with 10 months MOT. On Friday when I was walking past, the advert was still there.

No enthusiast would try to sell their classic in such a low key manner, so I imagine this is a relative or friend trying to sell it. In which case, if it doesn't sell, they might scrap it, which would be a shame because it is obviously in good enough nick to have an MOT.

I have deliberately not made a note of the phone number because although I can afford the car, I can not afford the divorce that might follow if I buy it. But if anyone on the NG is interested, I will pass the contact details on. It is a Bath phone number.

I have no connection with the seller - indeed, I don't even know who the seller is. But a car that has survived 40 years deserves a bigger audience than just the users of my local post office!

The way things are going in some parts of the country I wouldn't be surprised to see a car with a 'Post Office For Sale' notice in its back window :-(

I might just do that :-) They closed 8 sub-post offices in Bath. The one I use is one of the few left, and the only one with nearby parking. On the last day for posting overseas Xmas mail, the queue went around the snaking barrier inside the building, out the door and along the street for two more shop fronts. I was in that queue. It was a freezing cold day and it took me 25 minutes to get to the serving hatch. :-(
