Does anyone have (or did have) a TR4/A and actually managed to get a couple of small children in the back ? If so where did the roof go ?
Thanks in advance

The optional 'shelf' found in some 4's that looks like a back seat isn't really suitable to carry anything other than very sorry small, legless children. Triumph did advertise the optional back seat in the sidescreen TR's as being suitable for petite models, but if you look closely at those pictures, you see that the front passenger is pretty much jammed up against the dashboard. Also note that there's never a driver in the seat when there are people in the back.
So no, I don't think you can even get a couple of small children in the back of a standard TR4.
However - there was a conversion of the TR4 called the GTR4 Dove, which was a 2+2 and would easily carry two small children in the back. See
The roof goes down and when it is, there's no chance of anybody occupying the space behind the front seat. Maybe if the roof is up, but it would be very cramped.
