Window cleaners

Hi, Just wondering what sort of tricks you guys use for cleaning your windows i used to use a special glass polish that made the water run off without hardly any need for the wipers, but my local spares shop were i used to get it has gone after 30 years plus and while i can get the cleaner elsewere it was getting expensive, it just started me thinking may be there are some tricks you guys have or may be some old home made stuff that does just as good job, i must admit i used some cheaper products and then the rain seams to smear really badly when the wipers hit it i would be most intrested to here what other people use. Thanks George

Diluted vinegar in a spray bottle.

Not a good idea because it increases the friction between the wiper blades and the screen.

I use Fast Glass from Auto Glum or Holt's Mixra. Both good for shifting traffic grime and rubber. Household window cleaners aren't as effective. Apart from that just use a good windscreen washer detergent.
