1988 Dakota 3.9ll v6 Code 13 issues

Jul 25, 2007 0 Replies

Friend has a 88 Dakota v6, auto, 165k, 4x4, -- nice truck.

Recently started setting code 13, only.

Today we: Filled with Antifreeze (non-related) Replaced Air cleaner and cleaned housing and tubes Added 1.5 quarts of ATF (non-related) Cleaned throttle body inside and out with Seafoam Checked wires and hoses for cracked replaced air breather and hose replaced PCV valve Charged a/c - (non-related) Adjusted ac and alt belts (non-related) Put seafoam in gas treated intake with seafoam cleared codes

This truck runs 100% better, starts better, and idle speed went up about

500 RPM at idle, se we adjusted it to spec.

It runs great, ac works, and doesnt miss, etc.

Ran about 50 minutes on road and idle, and didnt set codes.

Then it set code 13 again, and comes one almost instantly when cleared.

Im thinking MAP sensor - but the one listed has a picture with three wires going into it and a hose, and the one on this truck doesnt have a hose tube on it? - Right on the side of throttle body?

Other suggestions are PCM?

Anyone have any help and great ideas on this?

Thank you
