no matter where I try to channel the air flow in the cab it only blows out the defrost vents. fan works fine. heat and air work fine just cant get air to the floor or through the dash vents

It would help a lot if you would tell us what you have, make/model/year.
An older car with vacuum controls can leak out the hoses. From experience.
