Durango 5sp

I have a 04 Durango. I understand it doesn't use all 5 gears going up or down. Anybody know how it works. I'm not talking about the tow. Thanks Jack Marley

The "5th" gear is actually a second 2nd gear. Depending on load, the transmission will use one or the other as it upshifts from 1st.
