Need source for an upstream (bank 1?) O2 sensor for a 04 Dodge Caravan (3.8L)

Need source for an upstream (bank 1?) O2 sensor for a 04 Dodge Caravan (3.8L)

The problem seems to be that this year and only this year model needs a heater resistor with a cold range of 2.1 to 2.7 ohms. The O2 sensors I've found have a cold resistance of ~ 6 ohms.

If there are none available are there is there a work around?

TIA

A Bosch 15512 should work OK in that application. Don't forget to clear the DTCs after installing.

Thanks I'll look into it.

Did a bit more digging and found out that, without exception, I've been given the down stream oxygen sensor in place of the up stream part I needed in the first place. (No direct knowledge but seems the parts list/cross reference data base may be bollixed.)

Second (still working on this) there is some confusion on the correct up stream P/N for my specific 04 Van. Right now the question comes which will work on my particular van. the Bosch 15512 or the Bosch 13709.

Chrysler/Dodge has been of little help. Seems the micro give a Schmitt department is ==> that way. Likely would be better if I could get past the bottom level of their support group.

OTOH Bosch Technical support has been helpful as has OReilly Auto parts online customer service group. Kudos to both!

When I get this sorted and the fix done I'll post the result.

An aside. I spoke with the Texas inspection department in Austin and should the correct part be no longer available I can get a pass on that part of the inspection. Bit of a chore what with all the forms and hoops I must jump but I will be able to get the inspection legally.

I show 15511 is the downstream, 15512 is upstream. Both should have the correct connectors for your application.

Connections are correct. The problem comes in the heater resistors in the upstream are 2.1 to 2.7 ohm in the early 04 (3.8L) van and ~ 6 ohm is the late 04 van.

That and the vendors were handing me the down stream sensor instead of the upstream apparently due to problems in the data base.
