Speeding Ticket..need Advice

I just got a speeding ticket today around rt 123 and 66 in fairfax county. The cop was using a radar to track my speed a head and as soon as i saw him i slow down (before I pass him) but he still pull me over and told me i was driving 59 on 35. Honestly, I didnt even look at my meter to see how fast i was driving and i am not sure if i am driving on 59 mph. That is the number the cop give me. And my fine is $200 and i am guessing is about 6 points. So my questions are:

1) Should I go to court and try to reduce the fine? If so, what is my excuse?

2) how many point is that speeding ticket?

I move to VA last year and my last speeding ticket i got was 2 to 3 years ago. I lived in PA before.

Thanks.

Ahh VA. Where radar detectors are illegal. You are thinking about this all wrong. Don't beat yourself up psychologically. This is nothing but random taxation. Think of it as a charitable gift to the county that you are in. That's where the money actually goes. Write a check and forget about it. The guilt is what they hope to punish you with. Don't give them the satisfaction. They live in our world, not the other way around. In the mean time enjoy this video of me in a 55 mph zone...

next time you can get tagged for something respectable like 88 in a 70.

Yep, it's taxation alright. :-( I've had my fair share as well. I always just pay the man as it's not worth takin' off work. Just remember all the times you didn't get caught. Once I got two tickets in two weeks then got pulled over again for 93 in a 75 and he let me go. Needless to say, after I pulled away I went straight to best buy and bought the top of the line radar detector for $360 and haven't had one since.

Find one of those ticket defense lawyers in your area and pay them to fix it. There's no use ruining your record, and they can get the ticket wiped for about the cost of the fine, and in your case, maybe less.

I know there's some people that are against this, I used to be one of them, but lawyers have made ALL of our lives so miserable. Sometimes it's necessary to harness the dark side to make things work in our favor for a change...
