Oh grow up and pay up. If there was any dubious doubt as to whether you were speeding or whether it was radar reflection, then fair enough, contest it. But if you habitually break the law, know you are doing it, and don't care, then f*ck you.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

...and you've go more of a moral argument than he - motorways /are/ generally safe for high-speed driving.

If he was done for 50mph, then he was in a 30 or 40mph zone - most likely a built-up area.

So, to the OP, pay up, shut the f*ck up and slow down before you /do/ kill a child.

(this isn't an anti-speeding rant - my thoughts on the matter are well-know in this NG)

Word.

I got done doing far too fast on the motorway by the police last year... took my fine (450 + costs) and ban like the guilty bastard I was.

It's 60 quid and 3 points on your license. Deal with it.

Likewise mine. Cameras in towns and near schools and residential roads.

On dual cariageways, motorways, and out of town/village rural A roads no way. If your too stupid to drive at a speed that lets you stay on the road safely, then you won't be on the road for long anyway.

I can't see that anyone has answered the actual question of how to put off paying the fine. The answer is, wait for it to go to Court and see how much the magistrate hikes the fine and/or points by!

Why ?

Whatever happens, you'll have to pay them. Why not just do it now ?
