92 Ford Explorer ac Question

Does anyone know if a 92 explorer has the PCM (Powertrain control module) and where it might be located in the truck. Also what controls the AC relay, other than the AC On/OFF switch. Thanks Ricabuddy

It has a computer that's located behind the right side kick panel. I'm pretty sure the computer controls the AC relay. I think the On/Off sends a signal to the computer. The low pressure switch is in the circuit somewhere too.

Thanks Elbridge, I have replaced the relay and low side clutch cycle switch and still the compressor seems to have a mind of it's own. It will engage but any old time will disengage and there doesn't appear to be a reason for this. I have checked the pressures while engaged and they are find, the temp is where it's been since I've own this thing between the n and o of normal. The a/c worked perfect up to about 2 weeks ago when I noticed the sudden change. What ever is controlling the ECM to force the a/c relay ON causing the compressor clutch to to lose 12 volts is my problem, the relay is a normal closed type until the coil has current then it opens. Also I don't have a check engine light ON indicating a sensor error. I can force the compressor on but I'm lost as to why it's doing this.

Thanks Rickabuddy

Thanks for everyones ideas and replies. I found the temp gage wasn't reading accuratly. Even thou it was reading on the cold side, I checked the coolant and it was down, I put about a half a gallon of coolant in and the temp went down on the gage below the N, the A/C is running great now. I can only assume the temp was close enough to being high for the ECM to shut off the compressor.
